Pak Army, Terrorists Suffer 5 Casualties As Indian Army Foils Intrusion Bid In J&K’s Poonch

After three suspicious mine blasts on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, heavy firing by the Indian Army has reportedly resulted in five casualties of the Pakistani Army and the terrorists. The incident, which took place late Tuesday night, marks another attempt by Pakistan to infiltrate terrorists into Indian territory.

Failed Intrusion Attempt at Krishna Ghati Sector

Defense sources reported that the Pakistan Army and terrorists attempted to force infiltration from the Krishna Ghati (KG) sector of the LoC in Poonch district. However, the Indian Army’s prompt retaliation successfully foiled the intrusion attempt.

The infiltration bid coincided with three powerful explosions on the LoC, suspected to be landmine blasts. Although no official statement has been issued regarding the incident, intelligence reports suggest that the blasts were linked to the attempted intrusion.

Exchange of Fire and Enemy Casualties

According to sources, the Pakistan Army initiated firing to provide cover to the infiltrating terrorists on Tuesday evening. The alert Indian troops responded immediately, leading to a brief yet intense exchange of fire. As a result, there were at least five reported casualties among the infiltrators and Pakistani forces, though the exact numbers remain unverified.

“The intrusion bid by the terrorists, aided and abetted by the Pakistan Army, has been successfully thwarted,” sources confirmed. Movement on the Pakistani side of the border intensified following the skirmish, with ambulances making several rounds in the KG sector, suggesting multiple injuries or fatalities.

Ceasefire Violations and Pakistan’s Support for Terrorism

Despite the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan since February 2021, Pakistan continues to attempt to push terrorists into Indian territory. While large-scale violations have decreased, smaller breaches aimed at infiltration persist.

Officials believe that the Pakistani Army deliberately uses ceasefire violations as a cover for sending terrorists into Jammu and Kashmir to create unrest. The Indian Army remains on high alert in the border districts of Rajouri and Poonch to counter such threats effectively.

Security Forces Launch Search Operations

In response to the infiltration attempt, security forces have intensified search operations across five key areas in Poonch. Joint teams of the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) have been deployed in suspected infiltration routes and hideouts.

The areas under search include Behramgalla-Chatran Sailan, Kala Jhoola, and the Nakka Nar forest in Gursai Mastandara, along with Jabri and Chajala-Seagi in Mankote. These operations are part of enhanced security measures to maintain vigilance and prevent further infiltration attempts.

Implications and Future Security Measures

The recent incident highlights Pakistan’s continued role in cross-border terrorism and the Indian Army’s preparedness in thwarting such attempts. Given the increased movements across the LoC and intelligence reports of further infiltration bids, Indian security forces are expected to implement stricter monitoring and fortification along the border.

The Indian Army remains committed to protecting national security and ensuring that all infiltration attempts are met with a strong and effective response. Search operations in Poonch are likely to continue in the coming days as security forces work to eliminate any remaining threats from the region.

The situation along the LoC remains tense, with heightened security measures ensuring that any hostile attempts to disrupt peace in Jammu and Kashmir are swiftly neutralized. The Indian defense establishment is fully equipped to handle any further escalations and will continue to safeguard the nation’s territorial integrity.
