An Indian citizen lost his life following a stabbing incident in Rockland, Canada. According to a statement from the Indian High Commission in Ottawa, a suspect linked to the attack has been taken into custody.

“We are deeply pained by the tragic loss of an Indian national in Rockland, near Ottawa, due to a stabbing incident. Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is currently in custody,” the post stated.
The Commission further mentioned that it is working closely with a local community organization to ensure support and assistance is extended to the victim’s family.
Stabbing Incident Claims One Life
As per a report from Canadian news outlet CBC, one individual was killed in Clarence-Rockland while another person was detained, according to provincial law enforcement.
The attack occurred close to Lalonde Street, approximately 40 kilometers east of downtown Ottawa, around 3 p.m. on Friday. The Ontario Provincial Police shared this information with Radio-Canada but did not disclose the names of either the deceased or the suspect.
Authorities have yet to provide specific details regarding the cause of death or the potential charges the arrested individual might face. A formal statement is expected to be issued to offer further clarification on the matter.
In the meantime, law enforcement officials have advised residents of Rockland to anticipate a greater police presence in the area.
